For me personally Scandinavian Leather was the most awaited album in the last year. I remember the moment early 2002 when I got an email that informed me about the reunion of TRBNGR and - a few weeks later - the confirmation of the Res-Erction tour dates. The moment to see the Dudes reunited on stage at the Bizarre Festival after four years of waiting is still unforgetable for me. Another few days later I got the press information that TRBNGR signed a record deal w/ Burning Heart Records. That was the moment, the waiting began. Now the records is released. And it isn't disappointing. After listening to Scandinavian Leather for the first time I thought: damn, it's lousy pop music, how boring. But, kiss my ass: after the 10th time of listening the feeling came back. And the best part is: the album is getting bigger and bigger. Drenched In Blood, Gimme Some, Sell Your Body (To The Night) und I Want Everything are fantastic tunes sounding a little bit softer than awaited. But who cares if you still get great verses, refrains and really heavy guitar riffs. Not to forget Turbonegro Must Be Destroyed, Train Of Flesh and Le Saboteur (w/ french lyrics, pretty cool but probably never played live). These songs really ROCK hard. On the other hand they have Ride With Us in their repertory, one of the best songs Happy Tom has ever composed. Pretty clever to put this track at the end of the album. Shortly after finished you're gonna run to your cd-player and hit the repeat button. Only Wipe It 'Til It Bleeds is a little bit uninspired. I have no idea why TRBNGR put this track at the beginning of the record. Maybe another stupid band stragedy to irritate the masses. Finally there is the first single, Fuck The World, a bombastic hymn. Not my cup of tea but every other Turbojugend member I know likes this song. Result: another Ueberalbum of the sons of Ueberman.
